5. Faith
machine translation: this tradition has no published translation into your language yet
At the foundation of your consciousness lies faith. It is said: “According to your faith be it unto you.” But this is not the faith we speak of when thinking about religion or God (and these, by the way, are different things). That is, when we speak of blind faith: as if we have to believe in something when we lack knowledge, and when we gain knowledge, faith is no longer needed. No, we speak of faith as such, of beliefs, of subconscious, persistent convictions that precede any knowledge. Of a faith that defines the fundamental laws of our reality. And here it is essential to realize that all of us, perhaps without realizing it ourselves, believe in something.
Some believe in science, in the notion that man is an evolved animal; some believe in religious dogmas, in a “grandfather on a cloud who rules over everything”; some believe in the power of magical influence... But most people, without being aware of it, simply believe that the world is as it is, as we see it, feel it, measure it, and that it exists independently of us, of what we think about it, of what we know about it—it simply is. And when we are no more, it will remain just the same, only we will not be in it. This is called “objective reality.” But that is not how it truly is; it is merely such a belief, a deep conviction absorbed unconsciously in childhood and rooted by habit; most people simply believe in this “objective reality,” just as someone believes in a “grandfather on a cloud.” But the point is,
that the formula “according to your faith be it unto you” works in every case: what You believe in, that You receive. Any faith, like any truth, confirms itself with facts of external reality. Any faith.
At a fundamental level, our reality is, as physicists say, a quantum soup—a “mishmash” of all possible versions of reality, and only the template of our perception, the way we look at our world, through whichever prism (of beliefs and convictions) we perceive it, determines that specific version of reality which we experience. Yes, these versions have different probabilities of actualization. But as the quantum concept of QBism tells us, “in your reality, what is most likely to happen is what You believe in (are certain of) so strongly that You are ready to bet money on it.” In your reality, what happens is what You believe in, “according to your faith be it unto you,” while the facts and the knowledge that organize them are merely consequences that “surface” from the quantum soup of material actuality according to the template of our faith.
In other words, You will constantly and unconsciously seek and find confirmation of precisely what You believe in. The question, once again, is only whether your Faith, your convictions, make You happy? Perhaps You initially absorbed your beliefs unconsciously—from mother and father, from mentors and teachers, from your entire environment—but now You can make a conscious choice. To critically reflect upon the fruits that
You receive from your current beliefs and convictions and—now consciously—choose what You truly wish to believe in. The choice of faith means the choice of reality and the laws by which it operates.
One who chooses to believe in “objective reality” automatically falls under the sway of the laws of that reality: the scarcity of resources, the necessity of struggling for them, the laws of competition in which survival will always stand higher than morality, ethics, love, and justice. The strongest survives. But there will always be someone even stronger, with fewer moral and ethical constraints. Yet even he will ultimately lose—to the strongest adversary of all—inevitable death. In this reality, there is only one guarantee: the guarantee of losing, the guarantee of death as the natural outcome. And while You steadily advance toward this predetermined end, You are doomed to suffer, to fear, and not to love. Or to live on “painkillers,” trying to distract Yourself from the pain of fears and disappointments with anything at all—food, sex, entertainment, sports, artificial games, various courses, trainings, drugs, alcohol...
And this is “objective.” For in “objective reality,” there are so many external factors independent of You that an intelligent person, if they believe in an “objective material actuality existing independently of them,” is simply bound to experience fear and constant anxiety from the impossibility of controlling them all. In such a reality, by definition, fear reigns supreme. But
a human being cannot live in perpetual fear; this contradicts their true nature. And so one has to distract oneself with something...
And many, fleeing from this fear and suffering, run “to God”—to a god who, just like “objective reality,” exists separately from You: a kind of “grandfather on a cloud who runs everything.” But this is like “bad cop” and “good cop.” “Six of one, half a dozen of the other.” Now You must fear him. And constantly figure out what he wants from You. And here arise countless religious egregors, entities yearning to feed on the energy of people's faith. For Faith is the source of life; Faith is the channel through which energy is transmitted to whatever You believe in. And whether You believe in a god, in science, in a third world war, or in a president who will save everyone, essentially does not matter. You voluntarily surrender your life energy to something outside.
This does not mean that God does not exist. God exists. God exists as the Highest Potential of all, of all that is, of all that ever was, is, and shall be, and simultaneously as its Source. And in all times, there were people who dedicated themselves to the service of this Highest Potential of humanity and of Life as a whole, defining this Highest Potential as Unconditional Love, Eternal Life triumphant over death, Supreme Reason, Supreme Wisdom, Supreme Power, and Supreme Will, the Supreme Cause and Source of all, and finally, Supreme
Attractiveness in the broadest sense. Such people, who dedicated themselves to serving this Highest Potential, were called saints. And these people established their own timeless and non-religious contact with this Highest Potential, and through their service and faith enriched all or a specific one of Its qualities: some cultivated Will (standing in prayer on a pillar or a rock for 40 years), some—the Power of mastering matter through faith (“And if your faith be as a mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, move, and it shall move at your word”), some acquired Wisdom, strengthening the Mind and elevating it into the Spirit, into the Spirit as the Highest form of consciousness. Some disciplined the intellect. Some nurtured Freedom from the fears and limitations of the body, from bodily addictions. Some perfected the Body. Some expanded the spectrum of the Soul. Some cultivated Energy. Some attained Love.
Yes, this too is faith. But this faith, dedicated to the Whole, to the One and indivisible Being, which in all times established its own Living Contact with the Living Timeless God, investing its achievements into the One Treasury of the Spirit—this faith, Living Faith, created the Highest Potential of ours, to which one day everyone who desires will gain access—no longer by their own merits, but by the Supreme Grace woven from the selfless Total Feat of these holy people, which throughout the history of humanity has formed into the Image of the One God and His Love for us, His Grace as Our One Father-Mother toward His children.
And this faith, by virtue of its universality, creates the collective reality of the Highest Potential, the collective reality of Paradise.
Each of these people used their infirmities, their limitations as a launching pad, and built up the power of faith and the power of desire (and desires are very important, as we shall see in the next chapter), without turning away from their own weakness and fears and without trying to lose themselves in “painkillers” like other people, but looking them openly in the eye and daily performing the feat of transcending these limits, dedicating the fruits of this feat not to themselves personally, but to all Humanity, to Its Highest Potential, to That which we call the One God, the One Father-Mother, the One Spirit, realizing that all these supreme qualities would reach their critical mass not now, not this very second, but in the future (in the “age to come”), in some qualitatively New Consciousness That will one day realize Itself as the Cause of all. In the Consciousness of the Creator.
And now, this future has arrived. One day is Now.
You might ask, why can one not simply believe in oneself? One can. But compare: faith in oneself as an isolated being, and faith in oneself as a unique manifestation of the One God, of the One Life that has embodied Its Highest Potential and continues to expand It at every moment through all of Its unique
manifestations, wherein each child of God, each creator of their own reality, continues in every single moment to develop the talents and gifts received from the One Spirit-Father-Mother, making their daily contribution to the expansion of this Highest Potential, receiving in return an Updated Version of the One Highest Potential, nurtured by all the children and particles of the One Body at every moment of the One Now.
Agree that faith in oneself as an isolated bearer of consciousness limited by one's experience, and faith in Oneself as a unique manifestation of the One God Who encompasses within Himself the One Highest Potential of the One Timeless Consciousness nurtured by all Humanity, are different things.
How, then, does one come to believe in Oneself, in Oneself as the creator of one's reality, not separated from the Whole, but as a god and a beloved child, a unique manifestation of the One God in your unique human form?
For Faith is very closely bound to desires. We believe in what we want to believe in. And vice versa: our desires are defined by our beliefs. Let us delve into the life-giving power of your desires.
