1O Nanak, in the Company of the Holy, one's life becomes fruitful. ||5||

2In the Company of the Holy, there is no suffering.

3The Blessed Vision of their Darshan brings a sublime, happy peace.

4In the Company of the Holy, blemishes are removed.

5In the Company of the Holy, hell is far away.

6In the Company of the Holy, one is happy here and hereafter.

7In the Company of the Holy, the separated ones are reunited with the Lord.

8The fruits of one's desires are obtained.

9In the Company of the Holy, no one goes empty-handed.

10The Supreme Lord God dwells in the hearts of the Holy.

11O Nanak, listening to the sweet words of the Holy, one is saved. ||6||

12In the Company of the Holy, listen to the Name of the Lord.

13In the Company of the Holy, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

14In the Company of the Holy, do not forget Him from your mind.

15In the Company of the Holy, you shall surely be saved.

16In the Company of the Holy, God seems very sweet.

17In the Company of the Holy, He is seen in each and every heart.

18In the Company of the Holy, we become obedient to the Lord.

19In the Company of the Holy, we obtain the state of salvation.

20In the Company of the Holy, all diseases are cured.

21O Nanak, one meets with the Holy, by highest destiny. ||7||

22The glory of the Holy people is not known to the Vedas.

23They can describe only what they have heard.

24The greatness of the Holy people is beyond the three qualities.

25The greatness of the Holy people is all-pervading.

26The glory of the Holy people has no limit.

27The glory of the Holy people is infinite and eternal.

28The glory of the Holy people is the highest of the high.

29The glory of the Holy people is the greatest of the great.

30The glory of the Holy people is theirs alone;

31O Nanak, there is no difference between the Holy people and God. ||8||7||

32Shalok:

33The True One is on his mind, and the True One is upon his lips.

34He sees only the One.

35O Nanak, these are the qualities of the God-conscious being. ||1||

36Ashtapadee:

37The God-conscious being is always unattached,

38as the lotus in the water remains detached.

39The God-conscious being is always unstained,

40like the sun, which gives its comfort and warmth to all.

41The God-conscious being looks upon all alike,

42like the wind, which blows equally upon the king and the poor beggar.

43The God-conscious being has a steady patience,

44like the earth, which is dug up by one, and anointed with sandal paste by another.

45This is the quality of the God-conscious being:

46O Nanak, his inherent nature is like a warming fire. ||1||

47The God-conscious being is the purest of the pure;

48filth does not stick to water.

49The God-conscious being's mind is enlightened,

50like the sky above the earth.

51To the God-conscious being, friend and foe are the same.

52The God-conscious being has no egotistical pride.

53The God-conscious being is the highest of the high.

54Within his own mind, he is the most humble of all.

55They alone become God-conscious beings,

56O Nanak, whom God Himself makes so. ||2||

57The God-conscious being is the dust of all.

58The God-conscious being knows the nature of the soul.

59The God-conscious being shows kindness to all.

60No evil comes from the God-conscious being.

61The God-conscious being is always impartial.
