1By God's Grace, enlightenment comes.

2By God's Kind Mercy, the heart-lotus blossoms forth.

3When God is totally pleased, He comes to dwell in the mind.

4By God's Kind Mercy, the intellect is exalted.

5All treasures, O Lord, come by Your Kind Mercy.

6No one obtains anything by himself.

7As You have delegated, so do we apply ourselves, O Lord and Master.

8O Nanak, nothing is in our hands. ||8||6||

9Shalok:

10Unapproachable and Unfathomable is the Supreme Lord God;

11whoever speaks of Him shall be liberated.

12Listen, O friends, Nanak prays, to the wonderful story of the Holy. ||1||

13Ashtapadee:

14In the Company of the Holy, one's face becomes radiant.

15In the Company of the Holy, all filth is removed.

16In the Company of the Holy, egotism is eliminated.

17In the Company of the Holy, spiritual wisdom is revealed.

18In the Company of the Holy, God is understood to be near at hand.

19In the Company of the Holy, all conflicts are settled.

20In the Company of the Holy, one obtains the jewel of the Naam.

21In the Company of the Holy, one's efforts are directed toward the One Lord.

22What mortal can speak of the Glorious Praises of the Holy?

23O Nanak, the glory of the Holy people merges into God. ||1||

24In the Company of the Holy, one meets the Incomprehensible Lord.

25In the Company of the Holy, one flourishes forever.

26In the Company of the Holy, the five passions are brought to rest.

27In the Company of the Holy, one enjoys the essence of ambrosia.

28In the Company of the Holy, one becomes the dust of all.

29In the Company of the Holy, one's speech is enticing.

30In the Company of the Holy, the mind does not wander.

31In the Company of the Holy, the mind becomes stable.

32In the Company of the Holy, one is rid of Maya.

33In the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, God is totally pleased. ||2||

34In the Company of the Holy, all one's enemies become friends.

35In the Company of the Holy, there is great purity.

36In the Company of the Holy, no one is hated.

37In the Company of the Holy, one's feet do not wander.

38In the Company of the Holy, no one seems evil.

39In the Company of the Holy, supreme bliss is known.

40In the Company of the Holy, the fever of ego departs.

41In the Company of the Holy, one renounces all selfishness.

42He Himself knows the greatness of the Holy.

43O Nanak, the Holy are at one with God. ||3||

44In the Company of the Holy, the mind never wanders.

45In the Company of the Holy, one obtains everlasting peace.

46In the Company of the Holy, one grasps the Incomprehensible.

47In the Company of the Holy, one can endure the unendurable.

48In the Company of the Holy, one abides in the loftiest place.

49In the Company of the Holy, one attains the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.

50In the Company of the Holy, one's Dharmic faith is firmly established.

51In the Company of the Holy, one dwells with the Supreme Lord God.

52In the Company of the Holy, one obtains the treasure of the Naam.

53O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Holy. ||4||

54In the Company of the Holy, all one's family is saved.

55In the Company of the Holy, one's friends, acquaintances and relatives are redeemed.

56In the Company of the Holy, that wealth is obtained.

57Everyone benefits from that wealth.

58In the Company of the Holy, the Lord of Dharma serves.

59In the Company of the Holy, the divine, angelic beings sing God's Praises.

60In the Company of the Holy, one's sins fly away.

61In the Company of the Holy, one sings the Ambrosial Glories.

62In the Company of the Holy, all places are within reach.
