Sefer HaBahir 76

1[The students asked,] "And what is, 'Make it known within these years' (Habakkuk 3:2)?"[Rabbi Rachumai responded,] "Thus he said, 'I know that you are the Holy God [אל], as is written, 'Who is like You, majestic in holiness' (Exodus 15:11) — holiness in You and You in holiness — and despite this (???), 'make it known within these years'."[They asked,] "What is 'make it known'?"[He replied,] "You will have compassion, as it is said, 'Elohim looked at the children of Israel, and Elohim knew [them]' (Exodus 2:25). What is 'He knew'? A paraple, to which it is simliar: to a king that can a beautiful wife and he established children up from her, loved them, and raised them. They went out into evil ways, and he hated them and hated their mother. Their mother returned to them and said, 'My children, why are you doing thusly, that your father hates me and you?' Until they were comforted and returned to do the will of their father. Their father saw this, loved them as at first, and remembered their mother, as is written 'And God saw...' and 'he knew', and it is written, 'Make it known within these years'"
