Sefer HaBahir 69
1[Rabbi Rachumai continued,] "Another matter: Why is it written, 'YHVH, I have heard of Your renown; I am awed' (Habakkuk 3:2)? Why is it that when he said, 'Your renown', he said, 'I am awed', but when he said, 'Within years' (Habakkuk 3:2), he did not say, 'I am awed'? It was from 'Your renown' that 'I am awed'. What is 'Your renown'? A place that hears him. And why did he say, 'I have heard [שמעתי]'? It should have said, 'I understood'. As was written, 'A nation whose language you do not understand [תשמע]' (Deuteronomy 28:49)."
