1I worship and adore the Perfect Guru.

2All my affairs have been resolved.

3All desires have been fulfilled.

4The unstruck melody of the sound current resounds. ||1||

5O Saints, meditating on the Lord, we obtain peace.

6In the home of the Saints, celestial peace is pervading; all pain and suffering is dispelled. ||1||Pause||

7The Word of the Perfect Guru's Bani

8is pleasing to the Mind of the Supreme Lord God.

9Slave Nanak speaks

10the Unspoken, immaculate sermon of the Lord. ||2||18||82||

11Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

12The hungry man is not ashamed to eat.

13Just so, the humble servant of the Lord sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||

14Why are you so lazy in your mission (to become one with God)?

15Meditation on God leads to your acceptance in God's court and, by engrossing yourself in this meditation, your face shall be radiant having attained everlasting peace and pleasure.

16Just as the lustful man is enticed by lust,

17so is the Lord's slave pleased with the Lord's Praise. ||2||

18Just as the mother holds her baby close,

19so does the spiritual person cherish the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||

20This is obtained from the Perfect Guru.

21Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||19||83||

22Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

23Safe and sound, I have returned home.

24The slanderer's face is blackened with ashes.

25The Perfect Guru has dressed me in robes of honor.

26All my pains and sufferings are over. ||1||

27O Saints, this is the glorious greatness of the True Lord.

28He has created such wonder and glory! ||1||Pause||

29I speak according to the Will of my Lord and Master.

30God's slave chants the Word of His Bani.

31O Nanak, God is the Giver of peace.

32He has created the perfect creation. ||2||20||84||

33Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

34Within my heart, I meditate on God.

35I have returned home safe and sound.

36The world has become contented.

37The Perfect Guru has saved me. ||1||

38O Saints, my God is forever merciful.

39The Lord of the world does not call His devotee to account; He protects His children. ||1||Pause||

40I have enshrined the Lord's Name within my heart.

41He has resolved all my affairs.

42The Perfect Guru was pleased, and blessed me,

43and now, Nanak shall never again suffer pain. ||2||21||85||

44Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

45The Lord abides in my mind and body.

46Everyone congratulates me on my victory.

47This is the glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru.

48His value cannot be described. ||1||

49I am a sacrifice to Your Name.

50He alone, whom You have forgiven, O my Beloved, sings Your Praises. ||1||Pause||

51You are my Great Lord and Master.

52You are the support of the Saints.

53Nanak has entered God's Sanctuary.

54The faces of the slanderers are blackened with ashes. ||2||22||86||

55Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

56Peace in this world, O my friends,

57and bliss in the world hereafter - God has given me this.

58The Transcendent Lord has arranged these arrangements;

59I shall never waver again. ||1||

60My mind is pleased with the True Lord Master.

61I know the Lord to be pervading all. ||1||Pause||
