1The way of the Saints is the ladder of righteous living, found only by great good fortune.

2The sins of millions of incarnations are washed away, by focusing your consciousness on the Lord's feet. ||2||

3So sing the Praises of your God forever; His almighty power is perfect.

4All beings and creatures are purified, listening to the True Teachings of the True Guru. ||3||

5The True Guru has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me; it is the Eliminator of obstructions, the Destroyer of all pains.

6All of my sins were erased, and I have been purified; servant Nanak has returned to his home of peace. ||4||3||53||

7Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

8O Lord Master, You are the ocean of excellence.

9My home and all my possessions are Yours.

10The Guru, the Lord of the world, is my Savior.

11All beings have become kind and compassionate to me. ||1||

12Meditating on the Guru's feet, I am in bliss.

13There is no fear at all, in God's Sanctuary. ||Pause||

14You dwell in the hearts of Your slaves, Lord.

15God has laid the eternal foundation.

16You are my strength, wealth and support.

17You are my Almighty Lord and Master. ||2||

18Whoever finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy,

19is saved by God Himself.

20By His Grace, He has blessed me with the sublime essence of the Naam.

21All joy and pleasure then came to me. ||3||

22God became my helper and my best friend;

23everyone rises up and bows down at my feet.

24With each and every breath, meditate on God;

25O Nanak, sing the songs of joy to the Lord. ||4||4||54||

26Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

27Celestial peace and bliss have come,

28meeting God, who is so pleasing to my mind.

29The Perfect Guru showered me with His Mercy,

30and I attained salvation. ||1||

31My mind is absorbed in loving devotional worship of the Lord,

32and the unstruck melody of the celestial sound current ever resounds within me. ||Pause||

33The Lord's feet are my all-powerful shelter and support;

34my dependence on other people is totally finished.

35I have found the Life of the world, the Great Giver;

36in joyful rapture, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||

37God has cut away the noose of death.

38My mind's desires have been fulfilled;

39wherever I look, He is there.

40Without the Lord God, there is no other at all. ||3||

41In His Mercy, God has protected and preserved me.

42I am rid of all the pains of countless incarnations.

43I have meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Fearless Lord;

44O Nanak, I have found eternal peace. ||4||5||55||

45Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

46The Creator has brought utter peace to my home;

47the fever has left my family.

48The Perfect Guru has saved us.

49I sought the Sanctuary of the True Lord. ||1||

50The Transcendent Lord Himself has become my Protector.

51Tranquility, intuitive peace and poise welled up in an instant, and my mind was comforted forever. ||Pause||

52The Lord, Har, Har, gave me the medicine of His Name,

53which has cured all disease.

54He extended His Mercy to me,

55and resolved all these affairs. ||2||

56God confirmed His loving nature;

57He did not take my merits or demerits into account.
