410
1He is unknowable and inscrutable.
2Enshrine love for Him.
3He does not perish, or go away, or die.
4He is known only through the Guru.
5Nanak, my mind is satisfied with the Lord, O my mind. ||2||3||159||
6Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehla:
7Grab hold of the Support of the One Lord.
8Chant the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
9Submit to the Order of the True Lord.
10Receive the treasure in your mind.
11Thus you shall be absorbed in peace, O my mind. ||1||Pause||
12One who is dead while yet alive,
13crosses over the terrifying world-ocean.
14One who becomes the dust of all
15he alone is called fearless.
16His anxieties are removed
17by the Teachings of the Saints, O my mind. ||1||
18That humble being, who takes happiness in the Naam, the Name of the Lord
19pain never draws near him.
20One who listens to the Praise of the Lord, Har, Har,
21is obeyed by all men.
22How fortunate it is that he came into the world;
23Nanak, he is pleasing to God, O my mind. ||2||4||160||
24Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehla:
25Meeting together, let us sing the Praises of the Lord,
26and attain the supreme state.
27Those who obtain that sublime essence,
28obtain all of the spiritual powers of the Siddhas.
29They remain awake and aware night and day;
30Nanak, they are blessed by great good fortune, O my mind. ||1||Pause||
31Let us wash the feet of the Saints;
32our evil-mindedness shall be cleansed.
33Becoming the dust of the feet of the Lord's slaves,
34one shall not be afflicted with pain.
35Taking to the Sanctuary of His devotees,
36he is no longer subject to birth and death.
37They alone become eternal,
38who chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my mind. ||1||
39You are my Friend, my Best Friend.
40Please, implant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me.
41Without Him, there is not any other.
42Within my mind, I worship Him in adoration.
43I do not forget Him, even for an instant.
44How can I live without Him?
45I am a sacrifice to the Guru.
46Nanak, chant the Name, O my mind. ||2||5||161||
47Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehla:
48You are the Creator, the Cause of causes.
49I cannot think of any other.
50Whatever You do, comes to pass.
51I sleep in peace and poise.
52My mind has become patient,
53since I fell at God's Door, O my mind. ||1||Pause||
54Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy,
55I gained perfect control over my senses.
56Ever since I rid myself of my self-conceit,
57my sufferings have ended.
58He has showered His Mercy upon me.
59The Creator Lord has preserved my honor, O my mind. ||1||
60Know that this is the only peace;
61accept whatever the Lord does.
62No one is bad.
63Become the dust of the Feet of the Saints.
64He Himself preserves those
65who taste the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, O my mind. ||2||
66One who has no one to call his own
67God belongs to him.
68God knows the state of our innermost being.
69He knows everything.
70Please, Lord, save the sinners.
71This is Nanak's prayer, O my mind. ||3||6||162||
72Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehla, Ek-Thukay:
73O my stranger soul,
74listen to the call. ||1||Pause||
75Whatever you are attached to,
