1It is accompanied by the voices of its five Raaginis:

2First come Bhairavee, and Bilaavalee;

3then the songs of Punni-aakee and Bangalee;

4and then Asalaykhee.

5These are the five consorts of Bhairao.

6The sounds of Pancham, Harakh and Disaakh;

7the songs of Bangaalam, Madh and Maadhav. ||1||

8Lalat and Bilaaval - each gives out its own melody.

9when these eight sons of Bhairao are sung by accomplished musicians. ||1||

10In the second family is Maalakausak,

11who brings his five Raaginis:

12Gondakaree and Dayv Gandhaaree,

13the voices of Gandhaaree and Seehutee,

14and the fifth song of Dhanaasaree.

15This chain of Maalakausak brings along :

16Maaroo, Masta-ang and Mayvaaraa,

17Prabal, Chandakausak,

18Khau, Khat and Bauraanad singing.

19These are the eight sons of Maalakausak. ||1||

20Then comes Hindol with his five wives and eight sons;

21it rises in waves when the sweet-voiced chorus sings. ||1||

22There come Taylangee and Darvakaree;

23Basantee and Sandoor follow;

24then Aheeree, the finest of women.

25These five wives come together.

26The sons: Surmaanand and Bhaaskar come,

27Chandrabinb and Mangalan follow.

28Sarasbaan and Binodaa then come,

29and the thrilling songs of Basant and Kamodaa.

30These are the eight sons I have listed.

31Then comes the turn of Deepak. ||1||

32Kachhaylee, Patamanjaree and Todee are sung;

33Kaamodee and Goojaree accompany Deepak. ||1||

34Kaalankaa, Kuntal and Raamaa,

35Kamalakusam and Champak are their names;

36Gauraa, Kaanaraa and Kaylaanaa;

37these are the eight sons of Deepak. ||1||

38All join together and sing Siree Raag,

39which is accompanied by its five wives.:

40Bairaaree and Karnaatee,

41the songs of Gawree and Aasaavaree;

42then follows Sindhavee.

43These are the five wives of Siree Raag. ||1||

44Saaloo, Saarang, Saagaraa, Gond and Gambheer

45- the eight sons of Siree Raag include Gund, Kumb and Hameer. ||1||

46In the sixth place, Maygh Raag is sung,

47with its five wives in accompaniment:

48Sorat'h, Gond, and the melody of Malaaree;

49then the harmonies of Aasaa are sung.

50And finally comes the high tone Soohau.

51These are the five with Maygh Raag. ||1||

52Bairaadhar, Gajadhar, Kaydaaraa,

53Jabaleedhar, Nat and Jaladhaaraa.

54Then come the songs of Shankar and Shi-aamaa.

55These are the names of the sons of Maygh Raag. ||1||

56So all together, they sing the six Raagas and the thirty Raaginis,

57and all the forty-eight sons of the Raagas. ||1||1||
