Sefer HaBahir 54

1[Rabbi Berachiah continued,] "And why was she created thusly? A parable, to which this is similar: to a king who had a beautiful and nice daughter, pleasant and complete, and he married her to the son of a king. He dressed, crowned, and adorned her, and gave her to him with a great dowry. Is it possible for the king to dwell outside his house [i.e., with her in her new house]? You would say, 'No.' Is it possible for him to sit all the day with her always? You would say, 'No.' How is [he to deal with] this? He placed a window between him and her, and every time that the daughter needed her father or the father needed his daughter, they would meet together by the window. As is written, 'All the glory of the daughter of a king is inside her, her dress is embroidered with gold' (Psalms 45:14)."
