Sefer HaBahir 49
1[Mar Rachumai continued,] "Another interpretation: So that the world would not say, 'Since there are ten utterances [ma'amarot], corresponding to ten kings, perhaps they cannot speak with one mouth,' it is written "I am" (Exodus 20:2), and all ten are included in it. What are ten kings? Seven voices and three sayings [amarim]. And what are 'sayings'? 'And YHVH affirmed you [he'emir'cha] today' (Deuteronomy 26:18). And what are these three? As is written, 'The beginning of wisdom [chochmah] is — acquire wisdom; with all your acquisitions, acquire understanding [binah]' (Proverbs 4:7); as it is said, 'The soul of Shaddai gives them understanding' (Job 32:8) — the soul of Shaddai, She gives them understanding. What is the third? As the old man says to the child, 'Seek not things concealed from you, nor search those hidden from you. Reflect on that which is permitted to you; you have no business with secret matters' (BT Chagigah 13a)."
