Sefer HaBahir 33

1They [Mar Rachumai's students] said to him [Mar Rachumai], "Isn't it written, 'He has cast down from the heavens [to the] land, the majesty [tiferet] of Israel' (Lamentations 2:1), and, afterward, they fell." He said to them, "If you read it, you did not repeat it, and if you repeated it, you did not do it a third time! A parable, to what may this be compared? To a king that had a beautiful crown on his head and a beautiful cloak on his shoulders. An evil tiding came to him, and he cast the crown from his head and the cloak [note a mistake in the Sefaria Hebrew] from before him.
